My family didn’t move to the US until 1985, when I was 8 going on 9, so the first one of these I really remember clearly is the Challenger explosion. A similar list for the UK would clearly include the Royal Wedding in 1982. On the site there’s one for music which correctly, if hilariously, points out that I was 17 when Ace of Base’s The Sign topped the charts.
