I need a new show

Preferably something with lots of episodes that I can zone out with over Christmas break.

Things I watched/am watching this season:

  • Homeland
  • Revenge
  • Top Chef
  • Work of Art
  • Misfits
  • Downton Abbey
  • Parenthood
  • Breaking Bad
  • Fringe
  • Glee

Shows I have loved in the past (partial list):

  • 6 Feet Under
  • Sopranos
  • The Wire
  • Buffy
  • Party Down
  • Arrested Development
  • Freaks and Geeks
  • SaTC
  • True Blood
  • Mad Men
  • Game of Thrones
  • Project Runway (last season sucked, but I’ve watched all of PR Canada, Australia, and UK)

Possibilities: Battlestar (watched like four episodes and never got into it); Boardwalk Empire (watched the pilot and never got into it); Deadwood (watched one shitty low-resolution episode and never got into it); The Good Wife (watched 2 episodes); Vampire Diaries (thought it was boring).

I’m also amenable to reality shows, but further on the Amazing Race spectrum than the Real Housewives. Although if there’s a specific season that you think is amazing let me know.

What should I watch next??

  1. condimentasm answered: Parks and Recreation, Kitchen Nightmares (US), Louie, Bored to Death
  2. heck answered: Community! Possibly the X-Files. Archer, maybe.
  3. jessalingel answered: I’m a zombie/apocalypse kind of girl, so I can recommend Walking Dead and Survivors.
  4. etalex answered: If you didn’t see my Twitter response: Based on your ‘like’ list, I think you’ll really like Tudors, Rome, and Spartacus.
  5. shiftercars answered: As of Dec 27th I’m all over Shameless w/ William H Macy, the UK version is on Netflix. I’ve been loving old episodes of Roseanne.
  6. spangley answered: I am also on The West Wing bandwagon - so. good. Also: Castle, White Collar, Damages; I’ve been re-watching Felicity on Netflix (heh).
  7. sciencevsromance answered: The Good Wife fills the L&O/Sorkin void in my life; Deadwood is The Best (but maybe not for zoning out). Maybe FNL or UK Skins?
  8. haasienda answered: Terriers! It only lasted one season, but it was a hell of a season. Marci and I both adored it and wish it wasn’t canceled.
  9. simonandmary answered: Community. Burn Notice. Leverage. White Collar.Blue Bloods. Once Upon A Time even though it’s only half a season so far.
  10. mattlehrer answered: West Wing, Luther, Terriers, and the US/Elijah Wood version of Wilfred
  11. wildirishroseparty answered: This doesn’t fit the “lots of episodes” requirement, but the BBC Sherlock is great. There are three 1.5 hour episodes so far.
  12. pdinbp answered: I always recommend Slings and Arrows, a Canadian show about a Shakespeare Festival. there are three seasons, all great.
  13. inadvisable answered: Peep Show, Little Britain, The IT Crowd, Black Books, Venture Brothers
  14. rendit answered: It’s been revoked.
  15. theblueprint answered: as a fomer “lost”-phile, i can’t recommend that show in good conscious.
  16. awpoops answered: What about The Sopranos?
  17. brianvan reblogged this from alicetiara and added:
Suggestions not on your list: Luther - hardboiled British cop drama starring Idris Elba. Only six episodes in the first...
  18. harryh answered: The West Wing
  19. hannahgram answered: Battlestar is amazing. Give it another chance!
  20. buzz answered: I’ve gotta put a vote in for Deadwood. It takes while to get good, but it’s up there with The Wire for me.
